♦ Ballet

Foundation for all dance forms. Emphasis on proper body placement and efficient movement. The benefits are grace, poise, confidence and self-declpine.

♦ Pointe

Ballet done in pointe shoes (on toe). For the more advanced ballet dancer, taken in addition to ballet technique. Pointe work begins at teacher's discretion.

♦ Tap

Rhythmic dance that emphasizes footwork and timing. Styles include Broadway, rythm, swing and soft shoe.

♦ Jazz

Popular and fundamental dance form using isolation and stylized movements. Emphasis on flexibility, strength and coordination. Various styles of jazz are explored and taught, such as traditional, contemporary and musical theatre.

♦ Lyrical

An expressive and fluid form of dance that is often thought of as a combinaiton of ballet and jazz. Lyrical dances often show emotion by interpreting the lyrics of a song. Previous ballet training is essential for the proper execution of lyrical.

♦ Hip Hop

We take jaz dance to a whole new level with this funky and urban style of dance. Popular music and energetic moves make this class a lot of fun.

♦ Modern

This dance form is both traditional and contemporary and encourges artistic indivualism and innovation. The basic elements of dance (time, space and energy) are explored creatively. Themes range from the concrete to the abstract.

♦ Combination

Offered for Preshoolers and Kindergarteners take a combination of ballet and tap. Slightly older beginners have the choice of bombining ballet, tap and jazz.

♦ Tiny Tots

Ballet and creative movement for toddlers age 2-3. A great introduction to dance with a focus on coordination, muscle development, use of props and song and dance fun!

♦ Dance Company

Our dance company is by invitation only. We select dancers who show the drive, enthusiasm, attitude and ability to take their dance training to the next level. The dance company has the opportunity to perform at many local events, to do extra dances in our annual recital, to attend dance conventions and workships and to bond withthe group at parties and field trips. The minimum age is 10, and enrollment in ballet, tap and jaz technique classes is required. Additional classes, rehersals and fees will apply.

♦ Summer Dance Camp

For one week in the summer, students attend classes each day and learn all of the styles of dance that our studio offers. Not only do we dance, we also do creative art projects, theatre games, choregraphy, costume designs, talents shows, stage makeup and more!
